GREAT PLAINS TOURNAMENT RESULTS

The Lady Pirates traveled to Andes Central on Saturday, September 30 for the Great Plains Conference. They started their morning facing off against Gayville/Volin where they took the loss 0-2. At the serve line Lila Vanderlei had the only ace serve of the match. Courtney Sees had 5 kills and 17 digs, Lila Vanderlei also had 17 digs, McKenna Kocmich had 12 digs and 9 set assists, and Macy Voigt had 9 digs. This loss brings the Pirates record to 11-6. The second game of the day found the Pirates taking on Corsica/Stickney where they took the big win 2-0. At the serve line Kocmich and Lila Vanderlei each had an ace serve. Kocmich once again had a great night with set assists, as she tallied up 22. Sees and Lila Vanderlei each had 11 digs for the night, Lila Vanderlei and Macy Voigt each had 8. Sees led on kills for the night with 10 and Lila Vanderlei put down 8. This win brings the Pirates record to 11-5. For their next game, the Lady Pirates domianted over Colome for the win 2-0. At the serve line Jordyn Voigt led with 6 aces, Kocmich and Lexi Vanderlei each had 3. Sees had 7 kills and 6 digs, Lexi Vanderlei had 3 kills, Kaeli Wallinga had 2 kills, Jordyn Voigt had 11 digs and Kocmich had 6. This win brings the Pirates record to 12-6. With the win over Colome the Lady Pirates advanced to Bracket Play with single elimination where they faced off at the net against Centerville where they took the big win 2-0. Kocmich had 2 ace serves, 10 digs and 18 set assists; Sees had 19 kills and 18 digs, Jordyn Voigt had 13 digs, Lila Vanderlei had 11 digs and Lexi Vanderlei had 10 digs. This win brings the Pirates record to 13-6. The win over Centerville advanced the Lady Pirates to take on Burke where they suffered the tough loss 0-2. Burke would go on to win the Great Plains Conference Tournament Championship. At the serve line Jordyn Voigt had 2 ace serves. Sees had 6 kills and 9 digs, Lexi Vanderlei and Grace Vanderlei each had 2 kills. Kocmich had 12 set assists. This loss brings the Pirates record to 13-7.
