GOOD DEED AWARD

By

Kimberly Rogers received the National American Legion Auxiliary “Good Deed Award” from her Grandmother Linda Youngbluth. This award is given to a young person who does a good deed. Kimberly received the award for organizing a toy drive in her hometown of Delano, MN for Jesse’s Toy Box—an organization that delivers toys to local hospitals for distribution to children to help them be less scared while they are in the hospital. The sixth grader set our collection boxes in her school and church. In a month, she collected over 250 toys and $1800 in cash donations. With her parents she delivered the toys to her local hospital in Buffalo, MN on behalf of Jesse’s Toy Box. With the cash donations, she will buy iPads for the children to use while they are in the hospital.

Kimberly is the daughter of Steve and LaRae Rogers of Delano, MN and the granddaughter of Jay and Linda Youngbluth of Wagner. She is a 12-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Greer Unit # 11 of Wagner, where her mother and grandmother are also members.
