It is no secret that we LOVE this rodeo famously called the STAMPEDE in Burke, South Dakota! When you love what you do, well, it makes for FUN!! What great FUN we have had with all of you over the past 34 years at the legendary Burke Stampede Rodeo. In this, our 35th year, we are makin’ history. We have retired our old bucking chutes…they have served us well and have been loaded with many, many great broncs and bulls and the cowboys who tame em’! They represent 34 years of Stampede memories and Stampede fun! Recognizing that is was time to look toward the next 35 years of Stampede fun, our committee commissioned Macksteel out of Watertown, South Dakota to build (not 6) but 8 brand spankin’ new buckin’ chutes. These chutes are bigger, safer and just plain “Stampede fancy”! They complete Phase 1 of our big dreams for the Burke Stampede Rodeo Arena.
We promise to never quit dreamin’. We are dedicated to making the Stampede experience come alive for all of you! Hats off to our great sponsors who have stepped up with added money to make our rodeo a going concern in the professional rodeo world. Thanks to that added money and the reputation stock brought to us by Muddy Creek ProRodeo, our entries for this year’s Stampede are outstanding. Some 68 bronc riders and 99 break-away ropers have signed on to compete at the Stampede…record entries in the bronc riding for sure.
Everything is in place….. we just need YOU!! We invite you to fill the stands and just enjoy the atmosphere that is the Burke Stampede Rodeo. It is a time to join neighbors, family, and friends and to make new neighbors, family and friends as you enjoy Great Rodeo, Great Cowboys and Cowgirls, and have Great Fun! And make sure you bring your Stampede Ready and your Stampede Rowdy!
