By Coach Cherie Petry
We are so proud of how much all these ladies have learned this year!
Varsity Bars: Kamryn Krueger scored a 5.55. Kamryn earned her season high on this event. She learned and competed her new dismount. We are so proud of you Kamryn! Aubry Williams scored a 6.375. Although she didn’t individually qualify on this event, she has learned new skills this year that have improved her event score by approximately a full point. Addison Cuka scored a 6.325. Although this isn’t the routine she had hoped she would perform, she lead the team on this event all season long. Amelia Rathgeber was unable to compete due to illness. Emma McNinch scored a 6.0. It was nice to have Emma back after a whirlwind of injuries. She competed well and we cannot wait to see what she accomplishes outside of season to be ready for next year. Aspyn Schroeder scored a 5.525. She has worked hard all season to learn and compete with her kip. Although this was not her best score, she has been one of the top four scorers on this event all season long. It will be fun to watch her grow in the years to come. Due to injury Dusti Laska was out the remainder of the season. We are hoping to learn new skills over the spring and summer open gyms. With such a young team we are anxiously awaiting the next chance to help these girls become stronger and more competitive on this event.
Varsity Beam: Aubry Williams, Addison Cuka and Emma McNinch all scored an 8.05 and tied for 10th place. They earned their way to compete at state for individual day! Dusti Laska and Amelia Rathgeber were unable to compete this event. Julia Krug scored a 7.20 and got to be the final competitor of the evening. Aspyn Schroeder scored a 6.95, and Bella Kotab started us off for this event she earned a 6.425. The key to this event is staying on. We will continue to push the girls to hold their shapes throughout the entire routine.
Varsity Floor: Bella Kotab scored a 7.60, Julia Krug scored a 6.225 and competed a brand new skill learned just two days prior; good job Julia! Aubry Williams scored an 8.875 and placed 8th, Addison Cuka scored a 7.75, Emma McNinch scored a 7.80, and Aspyn Schroeder scored a 7.45. Starting on floor always proves to be more difficult especially at such an important meet. Although the scores were lower than we would have liked. They truly put on a show.
Varsity Vault: Julia Krug scored a 7.475, Aubry Williams scored an 8.575 and placed 7th, Addison Cuka scored a 7.875, Emma McNinch scored a 7.875. We are proud of Emma and her grit she has shown competing for the first time following a dislocated, and broken toe a few weeks back. Bella Kotab scored a 7.275, and Aspyn Schroeder scored a 7.45.
Varsity All Around: Aubry Williams scored a 31.90 and placed 11th, Addison Cuka scored a 30.10, Emma McNinch scored a 29.70, and Aspyn Schroeder scored a 27.775. Girls can no longer earn an all-around spot by this score. They need to earn their way event by event. No one this year will be competing all 4 events on individual day this year.
We would like to thank all our girls’ parents for another great season! THANK YOU for all you do to support your daughters and us coaches. Thank you to the McNinch family for feeding the entire team again the week of regions. Your thoughtfulness and generosity are greatly appreciated. Thank you, all the moms, for putting together the Region goodie bags! We were all surprised and grateful! Congratulations again, young ladies! Go out and finish this season with your best yet! We believe in you!
