Following a year of COVID affected events, musicians from around the state are anticipating All-State Choir in Rapid City. For Autumn Schultz’s ninth consecutive year of directing the Avon Choir, four students have been selected for that honor!

Four Sopranos, three altos, five tenors, and five basses tried out to be the four who made All-State. Sarah Swier (soprano), Kimberly Tolsma (alto), Makayla Kopp (tenor), and Kley Heumiller (bass) will make their way to Rapid City on October 28th. Alternates include Grace Vanderlei (soprano), Lydia Houska (alto), Ashley Tolsma (tenor), and Landon Thury (bass).

Schultz said, “I have a lot of hard workers and it stinks when the judge has to narrow it down when I know I could be taking multiple quartets if it wasn't for our class size.”
