The Avon Pirates (2-1) faced Freeman/Freeman Academy/ Marion on Friday, September 2 at home. The Pirates struggled in the first half. They came back strong in the second half but were still unable to claim the victory with a final of 24-34.

In the final seconds of the third, Jaden Stahl enters the end zone with a three yard Pirate touchdown. The two point conversion pass from Bierema to Cody Soukup was good.
