P ROVERBS 26:11 'As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.' (KJV) 11 PETER 2:21 'For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them'(KJV) There are people who say 'there is no God.' These people are called 'fools' in God's Word. They think that there is no consequence for what they did, or they ignore it.
They are people who commit a crime, get caught, go to jail, do their time, and get out only to commit another crime knowing the results will follow.
They are just like a dog that vomits and goes back to it.
Our scripture tells us that for a fool it would be better for them to not hear God's Plan of Salvation than to hear it, ignore it, and return to their sinful lifestyle.
This is refusing to accept the Holy Spirit's leading for their eternal security in heaven.
If they had never heard it, and die in their sin, they do not know of the blessings of God, and die and are hell bound. But they can hear and be saved.
But if they do hear God's simple plan of salvation, and turn it down, they are blaspheming the Holy Ghost, and this is the only sin that cannot be forgiven in this world or in the next.
By refusing Salvation, they are dooming themselves to an eternal punishment for their unforgiven sins in the pit of fire.
So when we witness to someone we must be sure they understand what they are receiving clearly, so when they accept their Salvation by the blood of Jesus, they know for sure what they are doing.
But when we witness to someone and we do not clearly explain to them what Salvation is all about--and then they refuse it. It's their decision.
We must surely state that it is not just 'asking Jesus into their heart' but it must be real to them. They must have faith, repent, and confess they are sinners and accept the Gift of God.
We are saved by faith through grace; it is a gift of God, lest any man should boast. You can't get to heaven any other way.
Have you heard and accepted?
