FIVE ACTORS EARN STATE SUPERIORS FOR ONE ACT PLAY

By
Allyson Hamilton

On February 6, our One Act Play performed Tracks at the State One Act Play competition at Brookings. They performed at 4:45 p.m. at SDSU Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center. They got their results from State on February 9. Caleb Wallinga, Noah Watchorn, Rachael DeJong, Haleigh Tjeerdsma and Kley Heumiller earned superiors for acting.

Previously, the cast presented at our school on January 22 for the community. They went to regions on January 26 and did a fantastic job.

At regions, DeJong and Watchorn were nominated for the superior award by three judges. Tjeerdsma and Wallinga were nominated for the superior award by two judges. Other nominees were Haley Gillette, Heumiller, and Kiara Driesen.

As a play, they did not receive any awards, just the superiors for the individual actors. Congratulations again to the drama club for making it to State and doing the best that they could!
