The Tabor Pioneers 4-H Club members received a FCSLA Life Matching Funds check of $600 from Dennis L. Povondra, FCSLA National Auditor. The event was held at the Takota Park Ball Field in Tabor during the week of May 19 - 21, 2025. Girls Softball and Boys Baseball games were played during the week. Tabor’s Junior branch JW093 of FCSLA Life was the sponsoring group for the Matching Funds Grant. The committee raised $1,158.50 during concession sales for the week. It will use the funds for Community Service Projects including Valentines for Veterans, Christmas Cards and May Baskets for Good Samaritan Society Residents, Cookie Trays for Community Center Activities, Birthday Cake Kits for Food Pantries in Avon, Scotland, Springfield, Tabor, and Tyndall; Scholarships to 4-H Camps, planting flowers and taking care of the flowers on Main Street Planters on Tabor’s Main Street and Senior Scholarships for 4-H Members. First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association or FCSLA Life is a Fraternal Life Insurance company which sells Life Insurance and Annuities. The organization is based out of Cleveland, Ohio. The former Catholic Workman Life Insurance Company was merged with FCSLA Life. The fraternal insurance company provides funding for qualified fund-raising activities.
