Farmers Pride Cooperative is turning heads with its latest expansion: the addition of two towering Behler 600,000-bushel grain bins, flanked by a highcapacity 20,000 bushel-perhour leg system. For generations, Farmers Pride Coop has been the backbone of the local ag community, providing vital storage and marketing services to growers across the region. With this new addition, the Avon facility’s total storage capacity now exceeds a remarkable 2,000,000 bushels—a milestone that marks a new era for the cooperative and its members. Manager Kevin Tjeerdsma, who has overseen the growth of the operation in recent years, sees the expansion as a reflection of both necessity and vision. “With increased yields and demand for efficient harvest delivery, we knew it was time to invest in more storage and faster handling. These new bins and leg system will allow us to move grain faster and handle peak harvest volumes more efficiently,” he said. The 20,000 bu/hr leg system is designed to keep pace with the modern farmer’s need for speed, reducing wait times and minimizing bottlenecks during the busiest weeks of the year. The Behler bins— known for their durability and scale—represent not only increased capacity but a longterm commitment to the future of local agriculture. As harvest season approaches, area farmers are watching the final touches being put on the towering steel structures, knowing they’ll soon be delivering to a facility better equipped than ever to serve them.
