As the students left the building on December 21, they felt the relief of semester testing finishing up. Most wanted to catch up on sleep or lounge around before they returned on January 5, but not even the most invested sleeper can sleep away an entire Christmas break. So, what did students do to pass the time during break? Here is what a few of them had to say.

Grayson Ratzlaff, a seventh grader, participated in his large family gathering where he received LED lights for his room. He says he is looking forward to starting drivers education this summer.

Eighth grader Lexi Vanderlei said they went to Minnesota for Christmas and received RiseFest tickets for this summer. She is looking forward to a year with hopefully no Covid-19. Freshman Erica Cahoy opened Christmas gifts with her family

Freshman Erica Cahoy opened Christmas gifts with her family Christmas Eve and received a light up mirror. One of her goals for the 2022 school year is to receive A’s in all of her classes.

Brielle Voigt, a sophomore, traveled to the Black Hills for a family Christmas and was given a chair for her room back home. One of her New Year's Resolutions are to set better goals to better herself

Junior Airen Cline enjoyed some family time over break in a cabin where he got to ice skate. His favorite gift he received were punching bobs. He is hoping to finalize his post-high school plans this year.

And lastly, senior Paden Long was delighted to be eating turkey on Christmas. He was given a motor mounter and says he is very excited about his upcoming graduation day.

Regardless of what you did over your holiday break, I hope it was relaxing, healthy, and prepared you for the new year!
