A special session of the city council was not called to hear a repeal of the ETJ but rather a special session was called to hear nominations for a new council member along with other items of business. On the agenda at the special meeting was Gerrit Juffer asking to repeal the ETJ. This request to be on the agenda was made at a prior council meeting.

The mayor was misrepresented from a public Facebook post that is still viewable as stating the ETJ confined growth when it comes to building. That statement was not in her post. Also to clarify the incorrect information that was written on garages or sheds, a structure that has a building permit complying with the ordinance does not need to go before the ETJ board. A planning meeting is called when a proposed structure does not fit within the standards of the ordinance.

The ETJ was never going to be explained at this meeting and this meeting is not advertised as a public hearing.
