ELEMENTARY PARTICIPATES IN BIG AND LITTLE DANCE
Within the last few years, the Avon Music Department has started a Big and Little Dance for any preschool thru 5th grade students and their parent(s), guardian(s), or special loved one(s). This year's dance was March 28 from 7-9 p.m. The fun-filled night includes a Grand March and a dance with refreshments. The Cahoy family donated their DJ services, and the high school chorus provided the snacks and drinks. The Big and Little Dance shirt-tails the Prom using the decorations from two nights prior and giving attendees a night of glamor.
Attendees paid a $4 entrance fee and any family that would like to watch the Grand March was charged $1. “This dance is a fantastic and easy opportunity for the Music Department to fundraise and for the community to have some family bonding time,” Mrs. Schultz said. “It is an absolute treat to see the kids all dressed up and enjoying each other's company. I get a kick out of watching the kids interact every year. I think the 5th grade boys danced harder than anyone else! I was also told by a kindergarten student that the party I threw was ‘LIT!’ It made all our efforts completely worth it!”
