On Thursday, December 2, preschool through fifth grade performed “Karaoke Christmas” at their Christmas Operetta. Mrs. Raja Brandt directed the preschoolers, Miss Mataya Larsgaard directed the fifth grade band, and Mrs. Autumn Schultz directed and choreographed kindergarten through fifth grade.

Schultz said, “I love seeing the little kids getting all snazzy in their cute outfits, but even more than, that I love the finale and all the emotions it draws from the crowd.” She said that no school days, and trying to cram in as much as possible in a 30 minute session was the biggest challenge of putting together a Christmas concert.

This year for the finale, kindergarten through fifth grade sang “Let There Be Peace” by Carrie Underwood, and the high school choir joined in on the last part of the song. When asked if adding the high school choir made more of an impact, Schultz said, “Absolutely, community members were even commenting on it. Adding the high schoolers solidified the meaning of the lyrics that we all need to come together to bring the world peace, love, hope, and joy.”
