Avon High School acquired two drones this past summer with COVID money designated towards the purchase of technology. So far, Mr. Brad Poppe and his students have used them to take pictures of football games and the town of Avon. “Drones are becoming more useful in our society, and it's so cool to see the students at AHS use them,” said Poppe.

Many of the students at AHS have experienced the wonder of how drones operate. The kindergarten class even got to test out the drone. The class was learning about maps and wanted to see what our community looked like from the bird’s-eye view, so they took the new drones out for a test run. The Avon kindergarten teacher Mrs. Dawn Kocmich said, “I'm excited to use them more in the future. Knowing I can use them for some fun projects is great!”

Poppe said that they hope to buy more in the future.
