The Assistant Editor is Melba Jucht. Athletics writers are Roy Haenfler and Shirlee Meyer. Others on the staff are Laval Vesper, Lorraine Wittmeier, Joan Muller and Ruth Eggers. New Pep Squad members were: seniors – Lydia Bowen; juniors – Carol Berndt, Vilas Jurrens, Carolyn Berndt; freshmen – Vivian Weddell and Virginia Welderrich. The Pirate football team won 6-0 over Hurley on Friday. 110 Years Ago – 1914 The Avon beginner’s band gave their first concert on the street on Saturday evening. They all received a treat at Hagarty’s. Colonel Thatcher will speak at Avon Oct. 3rd at 3 p.m. in regard to the building of the Washington Highway. The Fair Store has: coffee for 25 cents; can of tomatoes for 11 cents; 2 cans of pork and beans for 15 cents. They trade for butter and eggs.
