The Avon Pirates, over matched but willing, dropped a surprisingly close tilt with the highly rated Ravinia Bears. Dwane Siewert turned n an excellent job at the end. Two sophomores, Jim Christjans and Stan Eggers, showed good promise.

One of our newest businessmen, Gary Hawkinson, has an upholstery shop in the Crosby Used Furniture building.

'Song Titles' was the theme of the Homecoming Parade. Leann Odens and Blane Nagel are the AHS Royalty. The Big Redculminatedthehomecoming with a win over the Bridgewater Wildcats 32-6. Nagel passed for 101 yards and ran 94 yards. Don Voigt, Andy Lukkes and Scott Meiers were favorite targets for the big quarterback.

The girls defeated Delmont 7047, but lost 52-56 to the Armour Packers in a 'battle of the best' as the Packers are rated number 1. Harmacek hit 25 for Avon.

Hubner'sRanchSupplyhosted some 360 persons to a barbecue on Tuesday.

Jim Powers is on the DSC Trojan football team this year.
