Shirley Yonkers was honored on her 80th birthday with a family dinner and Open House. Avon Pirates fell to Andes Central/Dakota Christian 48- 71. Dylan Raysby led Avon with 14 points. The Lady Pirates fell to Wagner Raiders this week. Lauren Sees led with 16 points.

Rev. Charles Kruse passed away in Iowa. 27 Sixth graders graduated from the DARE Program. Karla Odens had the best essay. Funeral services were held for Helen Pier, 58, at 1st Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Dick and five children. Senior Spotlight: Steve Ballard. He likes snow skiing and advanced computer.

High Bowling Scores: 180 Fran Mensch, 168 Adelle Mudder, and high series 502 Rosalee Sternhagen. Mark Reiff was honored on his 8th birthday with a birthday lunch and bowling. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Reiff have a baby boy born January 16th. Circle A Extension Club was hosted by Reta Ridgway. Lillian Hornstra gave the lesson.

Miss Lillian Pudwill went to San Diego to visit her sister and husband, LeRoy and Viola Walston. Clyde Doran returned home from California where he visited his son and wife. Community Theaters is showing, "Gene Autrey" on Saturday and Sunday. Dick Poppe is having an Auction Sale on January 28th.

Last Saturday snow began to fall and by Sunday the wind increased and turned into a real South Dakota blizzard. Mr. Ephraim Berndt and Miss Lydia Hubner were married January 18 at the home of the bride's parents. Attendants were Laura Hubner and John Brandt.
