Pheasant season began this past weekend and reports are coming in thatnumberswereup18%acrossSouth Dakota from last year Avon Pirates cruised to easy victory Tuesday, beating the Centerville Tornadoes 60-20. Tolsma's Cove added a canopy and replaced the large single pan windows in attempt to save on heating and cooling costs and give the outside a makeover.
Seniorvolleyballplayersandparents were honored at Parent's Night.
The Boys & Girls Club were visited by the Avon Police for finger-printing as part of the Child ID Project.

The old Harmacek building just south of the Avon Locker went down this past week. Dave Brandt and his helper Gary Fennema have been busy tearing the old building down. Next year, the old Rancho Cafe Building will probably be removed, leaving a huge hole on Main Street.

Pete Lorenz went out west to Mellette County to dispose of his claim there. He has decided to stay here in the land of bread and wine.
