Christmas Poinsettias from one of Mensch's Greenhouseswill go out to greenhouses around the area, including the the Flower Shop in Avon.

The 2016 fall crop reporting deadline is November 15th. Branden and Leslie Baade of Avon, SD, are proud to announce the birth of their little girl Brynn Elaine Baade.

Heidi Cap, signs her intent to play basketball with the University of Minnesota-Mankato and Ashton Mednansky signed an intent for Swim Team at College of Saint Mary.

Karisa Markel, as a stat was named to the Academic All-State. Tate Wynia earned an Honorable Mention; John Kopp was named to the Great Plains All-Conference Team and the Academic All-State Team; and Alex Balvin was named to the Great Plains All-Conference Team.

There will be an increase in tickets for the basketball season. Adults will be $1 and students 50¢.

Winter struck this week with several inches of snow, wind and cold temps. No school or Armistice Day program was held on Monday.

A double wedding was held in Laverne, MN on Nov 7th. Martha Hammond wed Bernard Greenfield and Carrie Greenfield wed Lewis Boomgarden.

Boys basketball practice has started. Many students were absent from school on Tuesday due to blocked roads.

TheAvonSchoolwillbeginonSeptember2nd.TheDormitory will operate as in former years. Added to the extensive curriculum will be Journalism. Supt. H. W. Woodward, Principal Harlan Moen.
