First Baptist Church celebrates 125 years.
Attendance was down at the annual Avon Fire Department Tractor Pull, possibly due to the church's celebration.

Two rattlesnackes were killed near Springfield.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ridgway. Shirlee Meyers and Bettie Thesenga are spending the week as guest of Joan Muller in Tyndall.
Jackie Pier visited at the country home of Carol Lea Muller. Mr. and Mrs. TC Pier and Mary, while traveling in NY were involved in a car accident. Mrs. Pier is in the hospital with broken ribs, Mr. Pier and Mary were bruised and shaken.
