PROVERBS 9:10 'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding.'(KJV) Every PROVERB has a message for us to know and apply that message so that we can and will know more about the Lord and His wants of and for us.

In this PROVERB, the word fear is used. It can be defined as 'love' or as 'fear' itself.

Learning the love that we should have for the Lord is found in the pages of our Bible. Reading it, studying it, and hearing it preached at church services will bring out to us how much God loves us. Knowing this should bring about a love for Him.

To fear the Lord also comes from knowing Who He is and how powerful He is. He is in charge of everything on this Earth and in complete charge of the entire universe.

When we are told by our parents to do something, we do it because they love us and because if we do not do it, the results are some kind of punishment. So when God, who loves us tells us to do something in the Bible--He means for us to do it. If we do not, it could result in His chastisement (punishment).

The more we know what the Bible says we should do brings us to understand why the Lord wants things His way. Everything He says for us to do is for our own good, and in doing them He gives us His blessings.

Now if a person neglects to read His Word he cannot follow His wants because he does not know what they are. By not fearing the Lord and doing things as they want rather that what God wants will find that God does not bless them.

Knowing His Word more and more, a person will develop the knowledge he needs to be blessed of God.

The Bible is full of good blessed instructions to live by and to be blessed by the Lord for doing them. So we must stay in our Bible and do as the Lord says--and we will be blessed.

Are you missing out on the Lord's blessings that are told to you in the Bible? Or do you read yours?
