Just Thought I'd Ask

PROVERBS 18:24 "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."(KJV) JOHN 15:13-15 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you..Henceforth I call you not servants, For the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth; But I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you."(KJV) We have a lot of people in our life that we call our friends. They are the one's that we can count on when in need and know that they will be there for us. But there are also people in our life which we call friends who when called upon in need will always have something else to them is more important than to help you in your time of need. They are just acquaintances. They are those who are friendly when it works for them. But if you really do want friends you must first be friendly to them. Be there when they need you. As we see in PROVERBS 18:24 "... There is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."(KJV) That friend is always there to help you in time of need. Never turns away a person who calls on Him for help, will never back down on a promise. That friend is JESUS. Several times in God's Word, the Bible, Jesus mentions His friends. JOHN 15:13-15 He lays down His life for His friends. Ye are my friends, I have called you friends. We sing a song called, " What a friend we have in Jesus" We know that He can be called on anytime of day or night and He hears our prayers. He always answers us. If you are faithful to Him (or friendly) He will be friendly to you. Then you can claim PROVERBS 3:5,6 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."(KJV) Do you know your real friend?
