PROVERBS 9:9,10 " Give instruction to a wise man, and he will yet be wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding."(KJV)

Websters dictionary says:

Wisdom--the quality of being wise. wise means--having or showing good judgement.

So when instruction or teaching is given to a wise man--he will get better in showing judgement--especially from right and wrong.

One who fears the Lord ( loves the Lord ) is learning to not only know Him but to love Him is the beginning of becoming wise as to those things that pertain to God. The more knowledge we have of the Lord the more we will love Him. The more we know of Him the more we realize how much He loves us.

Learning comes from instruction

PROVERBS 1:7 " The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."(KJV)

JOB 28:18 " And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom: and to depart from evil is understanding."(KJV)

PSALM 111:10 " The fear of the Lord is the begining of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: His praise endureth forever."(KJV)

As we see the word fear--means love

Doing his commandments is speaking of the commandments Jesus gave. MATTHEW 22:37,38,39 " And Jesus said unto them, that thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment and the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."(KJV)

As we can see to fear the Lord is to love Him--and to love Him helps us to love our neighbor.

So in reality of these scriptures is to love God above all else.

We learn to love God--in the Bible by reading it, hearing it preached and by practicing what we learn about the Lord---everyday. You will then be wise, and be full of wisdom.
