DETAILS SET FOR WAGNER SPEEDWAY CAR SHOW & TEST AND TUNE JUNE 6

By
Rod Pattison

The much anticipated 2020 racing season at Wagner Speedway will officially get underway on Saturday, June 6th beginning with the annual Car Show and Test and Tune practice night.

The Car Show will be from 11am to 4 p.m., at Midtowne Oil and Wash on SD Highway 46 in Wagner. Come for lunch as there will be burgers, brats, hot dogs and chips available for purchase, plus a wide variety of cars from multiple classes on display. Drivers who are able to attend are highly encouraged to get there early to get the best parking spot. There will be a People's Choice trophy awarded to the car that receives the most votes by the fans and one lucky person will win a pair of tickets to the season opener on Friday, June 12th.

The Test and Tune practice session will begin approximately 5 p.m., and the public is invited and encouraged to attend. This is a perfect opportunity to see all the work that has been to the actual track and the rest of the facility. Admission for this event for drivers and fans will be simply a monetary donation to the Boy's and Girl's Club of the Missouri River Area, which serves youth in Wagner and Marty. Track General Manager Rod Pattison says this promotion is something very important to the Speedway family. "The Boy's and Girl's Club does an amazing job of helping the youth of our community learn and grow. Especially in these uncertain times, our kids need us more than ever and the Boy's and Girl's Club is there for them. It's the least we can do, it's a no-brainer!"

Pits will open at 3 p.m., with the main grandstands opening at 4 p.m., and concessions will be available. Wagner Speedway is committed to making sure the experience for the fans, drivers and staff is safe and enjoyable. Plans are being implemented to have multiple hand sanitizing stations available and social distancing is encouraged. It's a great way to throw the green flag on the 2020 season.
