This week was the start of a lot of long days. We start at 7:45 Monday, Wednesday, Friday in Education. We start at 7:45 on Tuesday and Thursday in Health and Human Services. We have to be done with our meetings by 10:00 so that the next committee meeting can get started in that meet-ing room. Some days we had to carry over to the next meeting day the bills that we didn’t get to. One day we had security officers in our meeting.
We deal with every bill that gets submitted in one committee or another. This week we dealt with: certified birth certificates for homeless people, cash payments for admission to all high school events, Newborn safety devices, eminent domain for carbon oxide pipelines, appropriations for costs related to emergencies and disasters and wildfires and declare an emergency, education empowerment accounts, education savings accounts, Governor Rhoden’s selection for Lt. Governor (Representative Tony Venhuizen) and his confirmation, and a constitutional convention resolution.
I could fill a newspaper with our work results this week, but instead, I will give you this computer address to use to read and study the results at your leisure. The vote results will also be posted in either committee meetings or sessions by the day.
