CRISMANS HONORED FOR 70 AND 65 YEARS OF CONTINUOUS MEMBERSHIP
The American Legion Greer Post #11 and The American Legion Auxiliary Greer Unit #11 would like to honor Roland and Mayme Crisman for their 70 and 65 years of continuous membership respectively. On April 20th, 2023, they each were presented with certificates by The Wagner American Legion Commander, Clayton Rados at the monthly meeting.
Roland is a Marine and a Veteran of the Korean War. Roland and Mayme married in September of 1951, two weeks after Roland was drafted. Mayme, just out of high school and never having left the Wagner area, was able to travel across the country to see Roland when he was stationed at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina. She was also able to move with him to California when he was stationed at The Santa Ana Army Air Force Base. Roland and Mayme have five children: Pamela, Bruce, John, Julie and Nan. Roland and all five of his brothers served in the miliary. Roland and Mayme’s sons both served in the military, a son-in-law, three grandchildren that have or are still serving and a great granddaughter that is currently serving in the military. What amazing role models and military legacies, Roland and Mayme have been for their family.
During his time as a Legion member, Roland has held the office of adjutant. During Mayme’s time as an Auxiliary member, she has held the offices of president and treasurer and served on numerous committees over the years. We thank them both for their years of dedication and service to the Wagner American Legion Greer Post #11 and the Wagner America Legion Auxiliary Greer Unit #11.
