CPR TRAINING
On January 10 the Freshmen class of 2026 participated in the annual Avera CPR training, which is a requirement in order to graduate from Avon High School. CPR is an essential skill to learn before you enter the real world. During the session, the students learned hands only CPR, as well as how to perform the abdominal thrust. One student, Jacob Ratzlaff, says his favorite part of learning how to perform CPR was obtaining the knowledge of how to save someone's life. Jacob also states that learning how to perform CPR on a baby or infant child applies in his own life, since he has four younger siblings in his family. We also interviewed Al’shamon Meyers and he said his favorite part of CPR training, was getting the compression beat on track to keep the dummy alive.
