COVID – 19 MASK CONTEST “DO IT FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS”
The Native American Community Board held a student contest for a COVID-19 mask design. The contest was held during the month of March. The winner was a Wagner Middle School student, Cadee Nelsen of Lake Andes, congratulations. The theme of the contest was “Do It For Future Generations”. The design is to encourage people to wear the mask in order to help prevent the spread of COVID – 19.
The winning mask design is Mother Earth being held up by two arms on a background of gray. We have distributed these masks to our three local schools. When you wear one of these masks know that you are supporting the future generation. If you would like a mask, you can pick one up at the Resource Center while supplies last.
All of the contest entries were well done and illustrated some of the many young talented artists in the community. Our 2nd place winner was Benicio Zephier and 3rd place went to Connie Bruguier. Each winner received a cash prize of $300, $200, and $100 respectively.
