COMMUNITY CLOSET CELEBRATES 1ST YEAR AND GIVES BACK TO COMMUNITY

By

The Community Closet employees and board of directors is pleased to have celebrated the one-year anniversary of the business on Friday evening, February 1. An awards night was held, along with the presentation of four grants to area businesses and organizations. While the original plan was to give away two $500 awards, the financial standing of the Community Closet has been good throughout the year, therefore allowing more grant money to go back into the Wagner community than originally expected.

The recipients of the grants are the Rural Office of Community Services (the ROCS office), the newly founded SOC Committee (Strengthening Our Community), the Marty unit of the Boys and Girls Club, and the Wagner Pool Fundraising organization.

The board of directors, consisting of Greg Hubbard, Kelsey Doom, and Kara Frei, wishes to thank Ruth Bouza for her hard work in founding the Community Closet and all of her hard work and dedication in getting it off the ground, as well as for acting as the board president throughout this first year. A thank you also goes to Samantha Tonak for being a great employee at the Community Closet and for her commitment to the business and the patrons with whom she has built great relationships. And finally, but certainly not least, a thank you goes to the community of Wagner for their support in gifts of donations and financial support, as well as in the shopping that is done at the Community Closet. With this continued support, the Community Closet will continue to grow and succeed, therefore gaining the ability to award even more grant dollars back into the community.

Congratulations Community Closet on a Great Year!
