CHOIR/BAND ENTERTAIN COMMUNITY IN SPRING CONCERT
On March 29, community members attended the Avon Spring Concert featuring the 6-12th choir and band.
To start the night, the junior high choir sang three songs including “Song For The Unsung Hero” by Joseph M. Martin, “Send Down The Rain” by Joyce Elaine Eilers, and “Jambo” arranged by Jacob Narverud. Next, the junior high band
Next, the junior high band played two pieces which included “Apollo Fanfare” by Robert W. Smith and “High Hopes” arranged by Doug Adams.
Once the junior high finished their part of the concert, the high school women’s choir sang two pieces, “Song of Miriam” by Elaine Hagenberg, and “Never One Thing” arranged by Corie Brown. Regarding the choir performance, Courtney Sees said, “Hands are Knockin’ was pretty groovy! I also really liked the songs we sang for our women's choir.”
The boys then joined the women in singing two more songs, “Lunar Lullaby” by Jacob Narverud and “Hands Are Knockin’” by Kyle Pederson.
When the choir was done, high school instrumentalists played three songs, “The Adventure Begins!” by Matt Conaway, “A Hymn for Band” by Hugh Stuart, and “Relentless” arranged by Randall D. Standridge.
