CHILDREN ENJOY "READ TO THE MOON" SUMMER READING PROGRAM
“Read to the Moon” the summer reading program at the Library is happy to announce that as of July 27, 45,273 pages have been read by patrons of the Lake Andes Library. We are hoping for many more pages before the end of the campaign on August 9. Nine of the 32 students signed up for the summer reading program have reached their page goal as of July 27 and we are hoping for more successes in the next two weeks.
On Thursday, July 25 the Library hosted a Build an Alien workshop, along with a free hot dog supper for all children attending and a story time with each child attending receiving a free story book. The event was sponsored through the grant from the Stephanie Miller-Davis Memorial Fund which supports early literacy. The meal was sponsored by the Summer Feeding Program, through the city of Lake Andes and the Library.
