The Charles Mix County Farm Service Agency is accepting applications for the Emergency Conservation Program (ECP) to address damages caused by severe winter storms that occurred in 2023. ECP Signup will begin June 12th, 2023, and end on July 12, 2023.

The ECP approved practice for this signup is EC3: replace/ restoring permanent fencing on grazing acres.

ECP assists producers with the recovery cost to restore the agricultural land to pre-disaster conditions. Approved ECP appli-cants may receive up to 75% of the cost of the approved restoration activity. Limited resource, socially disadvantaged, and beginning farmers and ranchers may receive up to 90% cost share.
