The Charles Mix County 4-H Club Junior Leaders Treasurer for the 2024-2025 season is Luke Dangel. Luke is the son of Mike and Tina Dangel and resides in Lake Andes. Luke has been a part of Charles Mix County 4-H for five years, beginning when he was eleven years old.
When asked what made him want to be the treasurer of the 4-H Junior Leaders, he said that he was interested in taking on a bigger leadership role within the club. As an officer, it is Luke’s goal to get more kids involved in 4-H events. At last year’s Charles Mix County Fair, Luke participated in poultry, clothing, food preservation, photography, visual arts, welding science, goat, sheep, cat, rabbit, and shooting sports events. Not only is Luke an active member of the 4-H Club, but he is also active at Andes Central, participating in FFA, National Honor Society, cross-country, track, and wrestling.
Being a 4-H member has taught Luke how to be responsible through taking care of his animals and meeting project deadlines. One of the best 4-H memories that Luke has is when he qualified and competed at the 4-H National Shooting Sports competition in Grand Island this past June.
