The Charles Mix County 4-H Club Junior Leader Vice President for the 2024-2025 season is Katelyn Dvorak. Katelyn is the daughter of Mike and Kristen Dvorak and resides in Lake Andes. Katelyn has been a part of Charles-Mix County 4-H for nine years, starting when she was eight years old.
When asked what made her want to be the vice-president of the 4-H Junior Leaders, Katelyn said that she wanted to play a bigger part in the Junior Leaders and be able to earn her project pins. Katelyn was very surprised and excited when she was nominated for the vice-president position. A few of the goals that Katelyn has for the Junior Leaders are to try to get more kids involved in 4-H by showing them how 4-H can help them become a better version of themselves. She would also like to get 4-H more widely known throughout the county and communities.
In 4-H Katelyn participates in shooting sports, clothing and textiles, photography, visual arts, and home environment. She is also active at Andes Central School, in volleyball and National Honor Society. During Katelyn’s time in 4-H she has learned skills that include how to handle different types of guns, how to be a role model to others, how to serve her community, and a growing confidence in herself.
Katelyn does not just have one favorite memory when it comes to 4-H. She enjoys looking back at all of the memories that she has made through the fun activities that the organization does as well as meeting new people as they have joined Charles-Mix County 4-H Club.
