The Charles Mix County 4-H Club Junior Leaders Secretary for the 2024-2025 season is Mallory Gant. Mallory is the daughter of Jason and Chris Gant and resides in Geddes. Mallory has been a part of 4-H for the past two years, joining when she was 14 years old.

When asked what made her want to be the secretary for the 4-H Junior Leaders, Mallory said that she wanted to get more people involved in 4-H in order to show them all that the Junior Leaders Club has to offer. As an officer for the club, Mallory’s goals are to have a good farm safety day and to get more people involved. In addition to being active in 4-H, Mallory is also involved in many activities at the Platte-Geddes School District. She participates in FFA, golf, volleyball, South Dakota Junior Hereford Association (SDJRHA), National Honor Society, Student Council, Oral Interp, CCD, Youth Leadership Council, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

During Mallory’s time in 4-H, she has learned much more about cattle, which has allowed her to bring her learned knowledge home in order to better her own herd. She has also learned about baking and cooking, which are a daily part of her life. One of Mallory’s best 4-H memories was participating in the obstacle course at Achievement Days.
