CELEBRATING NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK “THERE’S MORE TO THE STORY” AT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY APRIL 24-28

By

National Library Week is being celebrated with the theme “There’s More to the Story.” It’s a time to recognize the value libraries bring to their communities.

Libraries are full of stories. They lend them out in a variety of formats such as picture books, large print, audio books, eBooks, and so on. But there is so much more to the story.

Your Wagner Public Library is a welcoming place that also provides access to computers, Internet service, and informational resources. The Library Board of Trustees promotes literacy, learning, and leisure time reading. The Board strives to stay up to date and invest in materials and technology that offer a well-resourced library.

Serving as volunteer board members are President, Jan Twitero, Vice President, Sue Larson, Treasurer, Brad Roth, City Council Representative, Rich Dufur, and Trustees, Fran Podzimek, and Marlaine Doidge.

This past October we lost two long-term supporters of the library, former librarian, Kathy Andersh and former Board Member Guriene McGuire.

The families of these two special ladies aren’t letting their stories end there. They directed Memorial Donations to our Library in their honor. Things purchased in their memory will be a reminder of their love for the library and their stories will linger on.

Thank you to these families, the Library Board, and all community members who have supported us throughout the year.

If you haven’t checked out your library lately, you’re missing the full story. You can visit in person, Monday –Friday from 9:00 to 5:00. Please use the east side entrance and curb parking during afterschool hours April 24-28 we will run a Library Week Book Sale. We have a wide variety of books for sale. Many like-new books, by popular authors are being sold at great bargain prices!

Also during Library Week, overdue books can be returned fine free. Please take this opportunity to get these books back on the library shelves.

Bring them in or return them in the Eagle/Flag book return on the west side of the building.

The community is also welcome to visit us virtually and search the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) and the Catalog to the South Dakota Titles To Go (SDTTG) program. OPAC tells you what books we have in the library collection and SDTTG tells you what you can access online with your Libby app. Library membership is required for SDTTG. Go to https://wagnerpublic. yoursdlibrary.org.

Don’t miss out! Stop in next week and be part of your local library story!
