CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS SUPPORT WRAP WEEK
Every year around the end of October/early November, Catholic Daughters around the world unite for one big cause. It is called WRAP Week or White Ribbons Against Pornography and is about defending human dignity, protecting our families and children, and opposing sexual exploitation.
During masses over the weekend, information and white ribbons were handed out to church members to wear in solidarity and some CDA members wore their ribbons throughout the week. Prayers were sent for an end to sexual exploitation and during the monthly meeting, CDA discussed some of the topics surrounding this growing problem. These include tips for parents about internet safety for children, programs such as Covenant Eyes that help those struggling by providing accountability, projects that the National Center on Sexual Exploitation is working on right now to stop practices and abuses of major pornography websites, as well as the Dirty Dozen list which is a list of twelve mainstream entities that are facilitating, enabling, or even profiting from sexual abuse and exploitation.
This year the CDA was represented at the Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation Summit sponsored by our National Project NCOSE Second Vice National Regent Connie Dronette. We hope that by “Standing Up and Speaking Out” against these abuses that we will be able to make positive changes.
For more information on this growing problem or to find ways you can help in this fight, you can visit the National Center on Sexual Exploitation website. If you or someone you know is struggling with this addiction, you can go to Covenant Eyes website, strive21.com, or “Road to Purity” online for resources.
