What do you get when you cross a box with duct tape? A lot of fun!

Catch the Wave (Wagner Pool Fundraising) is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta at Wagner Lake on Saturday, June 11 during the Unity Jam event. Teams will be making boats from cardboard and duct tape to race across Wagner Lake. The event begins with a Calcutta auction with the race to follow. Boaters will race from the north shore to the south shore.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Speedboat Award (fastest overall time), Pride of the Regatta (judge’s choice boat design), Spirited Team (team with the most spirit), Titanic Award (most spectacular sinking).

Boat crews consist of teams of two over the age of ten and can race in the open class (without a business sponsor) or in the business class (with a business sponsor). To participate, designate yourself as a captain and find some friends or co-workers to be your crew. Complete a registration form and begin construction of your cardboard boat.
