Iceandfrostaresobeautifulandtheirbeautyisworthanother look when you see it forming on these cold and foggy mornings. The random crystalline forms are breathtakingly beautiful to see and are only here for a brief moment in time so be sure to get out early before the sun melts them away.

We enjoyed a drive Sunday morning to capture some images as a very dense fog hung in the air. The hoar frost (hoar is an old Middle English word meaning aged or grey with age) is formed wheninterlockingicecrystalsbecomeattachedtoobjects,similar to how dew forms. So beautiful! It make a piece of artwork out of the common barbed wire fence and the trees glisten in the sun.
