BUDDY POPPY DAYS

By

The VFW Post 7319 and Auxiliary will once again be holding their Buddy Poppy Days on Thursday, May 22. Volunteers will be asking for donations for this worthwhile cause.

Since 1922, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States has conducted an annual distribution of buddy poppies to raise funds for the charitable programs on behalf of the needy and disabled veterans.

When you donate to the poppy fund, you are contributing to the VFW National Home, a home for children of deceased and disabled veterans in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, to the VFW Rehabilitation Services, and to direct assistance for needy and disabled veterans in our own community.

The majority of the proceeds derived from each campaign conducted by VFW post and their auxiliaries is retained locally to provide for veterans services and welfare.

When you are asked to donate for a buddy poppy, wear it proudly. Your help will go a long way toward helping a deserving veteran. It is truly all about veterans helping veterans and living up to the VFW’s motto of “Honor the Dead by Helping the Living.”
