BIG AND LITTLE DANCE
The Avon Big and Little Dance was a dance for all preschool-6th grade students along with their parent or guardian. It was held in the Avon School Gym on Monday March 27th, 2023. It cost $4 per person for the dance and $1 per person to watch the grand march. The dance was put on bytheAvonMusicDepartment. Autumn Schulz commented, “We are very lucky that a lot of effort that goes into making this community event happen is taken off of our shoulders. The Juniors allow us to utilize the gym for this dance using the same decorationstheyusedforprom. This in itself takes hours and hours of work off of my to-do list. Since it is a fundraiser for our Music Department we also have the high school choir and band members sign up to bring drinks and treats for the event. I really get a kick out of watching the snack table get bombarded with humans as soon as the Grand March is over! Thanks to everyone that makes this all work, including my great coworker Mataya Larsgaard, our awesome DJ Matthew Grant, and people that volunteered to take tickets including Jennie Leibel, Mylie Bares, andWhitneyPodzimek. We also appreciate the Cahoy family for letting us use their lights and Gregg Voigt and Shari Tjeersdma for help ingus clean up the gym afterwards. I hope everyone enjoyed a night outmakingpreciousmemories with your littles!”
One of the many students that attended, 6th grader Piper Steffen stated, “I think it was a really good experience for kids to have a lot of fun and be engaged insinging and dancing!”
All in all, the big and little dance was a huge success that manyofthekidsreallyenjoyed.
