The Regional Wrestling Tournament was held Saturday in Wagner. Two members of the Bon Homme/ Scotland/Avon wrestling team participated representing Avon, including Tyler Tjeerdsma in the 113 pound class and Brady Bierema in the 126 pound class.

Tyler Tjeerdsma (18-9) scored 3.0 team points. In the Quarterfinals - Tyler Tjeerdsma (Bon Homme/ Scotland/Avon) 18-9 won by major decision over Hayes Johnson (Elk Point-Jefferson) 13-14 (MD 16-4), in the Semifinal - Mason Whitley (Redfield Area) 29-4 won by decision over Tyler Tjeerdsma (Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon) 18-9 (Dec 5-0) and in the Cons. Semi - Wyatt Anderson (Parkston) 17-8 won by decision over Tyler Tjeerdsma (Bon Homme/ Scotland/Avon) 18-9 (Dec 3-0)

Brady Bierema (14-6) placed 2nd and scored 16.0 team points. In the Quarterfinal - Brady Bierema (Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon) 14-6 won by fall over Lawson Loiseau (Tri-Valley) 2-12 (Fall 1:18), Semifinal - Brady Bierema (Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon) 14-6 won in sudden victory - 1 over Porter Neugebauer (Parkston) 20-7 (SV-1 3-1), 1st Place Match - Jadyn Coller (Philip Area) 19-1 won by decision over Brady Bierema (Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon) 14-6 (Dec 9-2).

Bierema, with his 2nd place finish, qualified to advance to the State Wrestling Meet this weekend in Rapid City. Good Luck Brady!
