All seven girls placed at the Aberdeen Central Invitational on January 30: first-Britney Rueb-135; second-Harper Kracht-125, Hadlee Kracht-130, Hope Kemnitz-190; third-Tatum Palsma-100, seventh-Bailey Kemnitz-140, and eighthSydney Johnson-115. Tatum Palsma-100 was 3-1 with a bye, won by fall over Jerzie Muntefering (Ethan/ Parkston) in 1:23, lost by fall to fourth-rated and eventual champion Shaylee Speck (Pierre) in :55, won by fall over Breckyn Meyer (West Central) in 2:09, and in the consolation match won by fall over Jadelynn McCall (Winner) in 3:54 for third. Sydney Johnson-115 won by fall over Eliotte Kalnbach (Ethan/Parkston) in :32, lost 13-1 to Emma Bochek (Clark/ Willow Lake), won by fall over Dina Beyers (Lemmon) in 3:33, lost by fall to third-place finisher Isabella Current (Sisseton) in :52, and lost by fall to Kacie Welsch (Lemmon) in 1:55 for eighth. Harper Kracht-125 was 3-1, won 15-3 over Maria Mathern (Aberdeen Central), won 9-8 over Tierney Reindl (Kimball/White Lake/PlatteGeddes), won by fall over Alysia Stainbrook (Ethan/ Parkston) in 1:13, and in the championship lost to fifthrated Izy Bendorf (Kingsbury Co.) by fall in 2:21 for second. Hadlee Kracht-130 had a bye, won by fall over Layla Crowe (Kingsbury Co.) in :28, won by technical fall over Natalie Dreiske (Lemmon) in 3:44, and in the championship lost 5-4 to seventh-rated Sophia Knittel (Ipswich) for second. Britney Rueb-135 had a bye, won by fall over Mila Hobbs (Aberdeen Central) in 1:12, won by fall over eighth-rated at 140 Hailey Fortney (West Central) in :55, and in the championship won 1-0 over third-rated Lexie Hillmer (Pierre) for first. Bailey Kemnitz-140 had a bye, lost 16-13 in overtime to third-rated Rakyrah Wallace (Aberdeen Central), won by fall over Catherine Walking Bull (Chamberlain) in :24, lost by fall to Ellie Stofferahn (McCook Central/Montrose) in 4:04, and won by medical forfeit over Lilliya Meek (Faulkton) for seventh. Hope Kemnitz-190 had a bye, won by fall over Rayna Miller (Viborg-Hurley/IreneWakonda) in 1:33, and in the championship lost to top-rated Allison Konrad (Watertown) by fall in 1:30 for second. Host Aberdeen Central won with 187 points, followed by Pierre T.F. Riggs-162.5, Lemmon-142, Watertown-131.5, Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon fifth-123.5, Clark/Willow Lake-113.5, Kingsbury Co.-91, Viborg-Hurley/Irene-Wakonda-56, Miller/Highmore-Harold-53, and McCook Central/Montrose-51 for the top ten teams of 28. Comments: It was a good day having four in the finals and all seven placing. We were pleased with how Tatum wrestled placing third and congratulations to Britney. Next competition is the Yankton Tournament on Friday, February 6, starting at 4:00.
