By

Summer and Shada Beeson are going to be competing in the first annual RFD-TV Jr American in the barrel racing. They will be competing in the Young Gun World Championships and Open on February 27th for $40,000 jackpot and the Jr American on February 28th at the Will Rodgers Memorial Coliseum in Ft Worth, TX for a chance to come back to the semi finals. The top 15 come back for a chance to compete in the top two spots for the American, the 1 Million dollar first place prize!

The Jr American was once a dream, and now a reality for all youth 19 and under across the whole world. The Jr American Long Go is the next step towards THE AMERICAN and competing for the MILLION dollar bonus. This event is groundbreaking for Youth Rodeo. Over 50 independent event sponsors have helped the Jr American rodeo quality over 600 kids to this event. Summer, a 14 yr old freshman and Shada, a 13 yr old 7th grader are the only two barrel racers from South Dakota to qualify for the Jr American.

Shada Beeson will be aboard MS Custom Hollywood, a 2008 buckskin mare she has been training and competing on for four years now and her second horse she qualified in is Driftn Guy, a 2011 Grey stallion sired by the great Frenchmans Guy. She began running him late July 2018 and qualified on him at one of the very first qualifiers and times she competed on him.

Summer Beeson will be competing on RR Freckled Phoenix, a 2003 grand son of Frenchmans Guy. She has been competing on him since October 2018 and qualified on him the second time she ran him.

These girls appreciate all who have helped, supported and stood by them on this journey in their lives. It’s time to go make SOUTH DAKOTA PROUD AND REPRESENT!
