National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6th through the 12th. Andes Central School District is lucky to have a wonderful school nurse that serves dual positions as an elementary administrative professional and school nurse. Terri Bambas does a fantastic job in performing both positions at the school.
Terri has been a nurse for the past 28 years and has been the Andes Central school nurse for 22 of those years. The best part about nursing for Terri is that it allows her to do something she loves, and that is helping people. When asked why she wanted to become a school nurse, Terri said that while she was growing up, she helped take care of her grandmother. It was the experience of taking care of her grandmother that made Terri realize that she wanted to pursue a career in nursing.
The best part of Terri’s day is getting to be around and see all the kids. The most challenging part of her job is the constantly evolving challenges that present themselves on any given day.
Terri loves being a mother and grandmother. Her oldest daughter, DiMera is married to Arron and they have one year old twins, RaeLynn and Ridge. Terri’s youngest daughter, Draea is married to Brent and the couple has two children, Macen and Layla. Anyone who knows Terri, knows that she is active and always willing to help whenever and wherever needed whether it be at the school or in the community. When she is not busy working, she enjoys spending time with her family, working on building projects, making quilts and playing games with her family.
Thank you, Terri, for your many years of dedication and the care that you give to the Andes Central School District’s students.
