BACK TO THE FUTURE AT THE 2019 BURKE STAMPEDE RODEO

By

The Burke Stampede has always been about kids. In fact, the dream that became our rodeo grounds was built on the idea that our kids needed a place where they could play.

Like so many things that we do and love, the future of rodeo is no exception in that it is in the hands of our kids but we must be committed to passing on the fine tradition of this wonderful way of life and western way of living.

Because we believe so strongly in the future of rodeo, The Burke Stampede is excited for the return of the mini bareback and bronc riding at the Friday and Saturday performances of the Stampede. Mini and Quarter ponies are used depending on the age of your cowpoke. Age divisions are Peewee (6-9), Junior (10-11), Senior (12-14).

Rodeo gear is available to borrow for new riders. Contractor for the mini broncs and bares is Lazy 3S Rodeo Company out of Ft. Pierre, South Dakota. Please enter online through www.lazy3Srodeo.com. Entries open from June 29th through July 13th.

Starting at the Stampede there is a path for your young cowpoke to qualify for the JrNFR in Las Vegas, Nevada in December. The top 2 riders from each division each performance will advance to the High Plains Circuit Finals held this year in Fort Pierre SD September 29, 2019 and from there these youngsters have a chance to qualify for the JrNFR. To qualify for the JrNFR contestants must be members of the JRA. Check that out at www.juniorroughstockworld.com or for any questions call Shelli Langdeau with Lazy 3S Rodeo at 605-222-8510.

A tip of the hat to Majestic Ranch of St Charles for sponsoring an average buckle in each division and to Billie and Kelsea Sutton of Burke and Lambley Livestock of Burke for sponsoring an average pay out in each age division.

It’s back because we love it and we believe in it….the Future of the Burke Stampede, the mini broncs and bares Friday and Saturday night 7:00 PM Stampede Arena Burke SD. The Mutton Bustin’, always a popular event for the little tykes 7 and under will be on Sunday night at this year’s Stampede. See you there pardners!
