The Avon varsity volleyball team hosted Irene/Wakonda last Tuesday evening and secured a dominant 3-0 victory, improving their season record to 8-5. Brielle Voigt and Kaydence Metzger each delivered 3 ace serves. On the offensive front, Rilyn Thury led the team with an impressive 18 kills, while Metzger added 5 of her own. Voigt also paced the offense with 25 set assists on the night. Defensively, Metzger led the team with 10 digs, while Thury and Jordyn Voigt chipped in 9 digs each to keep the ball alive throughout the match. Avon’s JV team came out strong, winning both sets 25-23 and 25-18. The C team also had a solid performance, defeating Irene/Wakonda 25-23 and 25-16.
