The Avon School District has hired Elizabeth “Liz” Brandt as a paraprofessional for the 2024-2025 school year. Liz is looking forward to being able to assist the students and staff with classroom needs. She is hoping to being a positive part of each student’s day. Liz’s goals for this school year are to have fun, learn and enjoy each school day. Before taking this position with the school, she had been working as a substitute teacher for the Avon School District and really enjoyed being able to get to know and help the students and staff. Liz had also been doing in home care for a local couple for four years during which she would sub for the school when she was not taking care of her clients. This summer, Liz could be found working at the Bon Homme Golf Course and the Avon City Pool. Liz and her husband, Dustin, live on a farm just north of Avon. They have two children. Their son, Hoyt, is a freshman and their daughter, Haley, is a sixth grader at Avon. The couple has a dog named Max, several farm cats, cows and many different types of feathered friends. In her free time, Liz enjoys going to the races with her family, especially if it involves the 410 sprint cars. She also enjoys spending time with her friends when she is free. Her favorite book is The Shack and her favorite movies are “The Green Mile” and “Remember the Titans”. Liz is also very active in the local community, singing for the Bon Homme Easter Cantata for the last several years as well as being an EMT with the Avon Ambulance since May of this year. One item on Liz’s bucket list would be that she would love to travel to Paris. Welcome to the Avon School District team, Liz. We hope you have a wonderful year!
