Over 80 upcoming 7th – 12th grade football players, representing Wagner, Avon, Armour, AC/DC, Corsica, Menno, Yankton, and PlatteGeddes, were at the NedvedBich Stadium field in Wagner for an individual skills camp this past Monday and Tuesday, July 14 and 15. The camp was hosted by Wagner Head Football Coach Hunter Hewitt, Riley Reiff, Trevor Greger, Erik Cimpl, Ross Cimpl, Preston Nedved, Bailey Berg, Torren Devericks , Parker Petry and Wagner assistant football coaches Riley Kirwan, Jason Knebel, and Michael Koupal. The OL/DL players were instructed by Riley Reiff and Trevor Greger. Reiff was a football player for the Iowa Hawkeyes, was drafted in the first round of the NFL draft by the Detroit Lions, and also played for the Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears, and New England Patriots. He is originally from Parkston. Former Wagner Red Raider player and current assistant coach for the Red Raiders, Greger, was a three-year starter for the South Dakota State foorball team and was named first-team right tackle for the All-Missouri Valley Football Conference in 2014. Erik Cimpl, a former Red Raider player, who played colle ge football for the University of Sioux Falls, oversaw the Running Backs. Cimpl played college football for the University of Sioux Falls. Defensive backs were instructed by Bailey Berg, DWU current defensive backs coach. Berg also coached at Northern State University and served as a GA at Mankato State University. Ross Cimpl worked with the Linebackers. He is a former Red Raider and USF football player and was the head football coach at DWU for several years. Preston Nedved, another former Wagner Red Raider and a five year starter for the DWU football team, was on hand to work with the Wide Receivers. Torren Devericks, the current Quarterback coach for DWU, worked on skills with the quarterbacks. Devericks is a former Dakota State and Mount Marty player
